Our client, a leading organization in the Oil and Gas sector, is seeking for an experienced Project Logistics Manager. This contract-based position is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, offering the chance to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Logistics Manager is responsible and accountable for managing all logistics movements on an assigned project (including international or domestic)
  • Responsible and accountable for managing all logistics partners on the project. This includes but is not limited to internal partners such as SRP or external partners such as freight forwarders. This person manages optimizing equipment utilization, selecting the most cost-effective routings, complying with the selection of preferred contracted carriers, and securing delivery as per the established service level.

Proposals/ Tender phase:

  • Work with Tender team for necessary logistics plan to have logistics estimate for the budget.

Project Execution phase:

  • Oversees logistics team in terms of documentation archiving
  • Ensure that maximum usage of the Company contracted rates when SRP and domestic logistics are arranging shipments.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure the right level of logistics support is delivered as per the as per the project requirement.
  • Provide on-time logistics at cost-competitive costs to project team.
  • Manage the logistics team and enforce related processes and systems.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports on the actual logistics progress to the project team.
  • Schedule estimate updates/actuals during execution to project team.
  • Oversee operational logistics transactions with the SRP, domestic logistics, Logistics suppliers.
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with project team , budget review and KPI reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with international and domestic transport contractor guidelines, HSE policies, and local regulations and ensure shipment execution follows the Company standards.
  • Manage vendor quarterly business reviews with domestic logistics vendors, customs brokers, and international freight forwards (Communication with SRP)
  • Communicate with project team on a regular basis to ensure that the service level provided is according to client's expectations.
  • Project focal point for all international and domestic logistics movements.
  • Oversee international movements through SRP via meetings to monitor cargo move status and performance and investigate deviations through Quest and follow up on action plans.
  • Perform real-time tracking and monitoring of all shipments and communicate deviations.
  • Implement proactive and corrective measures combined with appropriate communication when early warning signs of deviation are detected.
  • Provide client reports upon request with project team. (Meetings and reports through SRP for international orders).
  • Maintain logistics budget.
  • Monitor and capture data for logistics milestones including Logistics cost in the business system and PF-P-01-01-010.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • >5 years logistics, planning or project execution experience.
  • Prior work experience in Production Facility / EPCC Projects.
  • Prior experience in project planning or project execution procedures.
  • Prior experience in handling Import / Export activities and associated approvals and permits.
